And Again We Have Three: Jose, Lee and Maria

Jose is a hurricane again and could threaten the northeast U.S. next week.

Hurricane Jose is a Category One storm with maximum sustained winds of 80 miles-per-hour. The hurricane is currently about 485 miles southeast of the North Carolina coast and slowly moving northward.

Dangerous rip currents and waves higher than ten feet are expected near the coastlines of Georgia and the Carolinas this weekend. By the middle of next week Jose will bring rain and strong winds to the Northeast, including New York City.

It's not expected to make landfall.

Meanwhile, the Caribbean is under another hurricane watch.  Tropical Storm Maria formed in the Atlantic this afternoon and could turn into a hurricane early next week.

Hurricane watches were issued today for Antigua, Barbuda and other islands that were battered by Hurricane Irma.

Tropical Storm Lee is farther out in the Atlantic and not a threat to land at this time.
