ASAP Rocky Issues Statement About His Arrest Via Swedish Lawyer: Report

A$AP Rocky has reportedly issued a statement via his lawyer about his controversial arrest and current detainment.

According to a report from Swedish outlet Cultural News, translated by HNHH via Google translate, Rocky's Swedish lawyer Henrik Olsson Lilj claims the 30-year-old rapper, who is currently being detained in Stockholm, is doing a-okay despite reports he's being held in an "inhumane," "diseases ridden" facility with inedible food.

"[Rocky] has never talked to TMZ or any third party regarding the circumstances when he was arrested, or when he was in the prison," the statement begins. "He was then treated and treated properly. However, he has experienced the conditions in the arrest as very simple and has experienced that it smells urine in the cell in the arrest. However, not in detention. The conditions in the arrest cell can in that respect be criticized."

Rocky's lawyer added, "He has lacked appetite at the beginning when he was arrested but tries to eat to the best of his ability. He was to receive a visit from American staff at an early stage when he was arrested, but understood that staff from the embassy were not allowed to enter. At a later date, someday later, however, he has been visited. If this is a violation of the Vienna Convention, he cannot judge. He does not know any other information in the TMZ article. " (To note: the statement has yet to be verified by ASAP's team.)

The conflicting statement comes days after TMZ reported that the Swedish jail where Rocky is being held has "shocking inhumane conditions." The site alleged that Rocky is sleeping on a yoga mat with no blankets in a facility that is filthy and "disease ridden." Furthermore, insiders claimed there is a prisoner in the cell next to Rocky's who has "severe mental issues who slams his head against the concrete wall and hurls feces every which way." (The feces is reportedly not cleaned up.) The source added, the water "is not clean and the food is not edible. For the first five days, A$AP ate an apple a day, and that's it."

As previously reported, the "Pups" rapper was taken into police custody in Stockholm for his involvement in a street fight nearly two weeks ago. His arrest sparked immediate outrage as the fight was caught on camera and shows that Rocky and his crew were not the aggressors in the situation. Not only that, but some reports have accused Swedish officials violating the rapper's legal rights since his arrest.

Most recently, celebrities have started to share a petition for #JusticeForRocky. The petition, which began circulating online Tuesday (July 9), asks for those to "stand with Rocky and request his immediate release from Swedish officials." To join the #JusticeForRocky movement click HERE.
