Prince George Going On Lavish Island Vacation For His Sixth Birthday

Trooping The Colour 2018

Prince George is going all out for his upcoming sixth birthday. While his mom and dad (aka Kate Middleton and Prince William) are planning a party with all his friends at Kensington Palace, the Cambridge family will be jetting off for an island vacation for the young prince's actual birthday on Monday (July 22).

George and his parents, along with younger siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are taking a holiday on the Caribbean island of Mustique. The island has a special place in the royal family's hearts. In fact, this is the first place George ever went on vacation when he was just 5 months old. His mom has been traveling to Mustique with her family since she was a little girl, as well.

Prince William's aunt, Princess Margaret, also has a special connection to Mustique. According to People, Queen Elizabeth's only daughter retreated there after her marriage to Antony Armstrong-Jones "turned turbulent in the 1970s." Princess Margaret was gifted a 10-acre plot of land by the island's then owner Colin Tennant, which she turned into a vacation home called "Les Jolies Eaux."

Since then, Mustique has become a go-to destination for the royals because of the high level of privacy and security it offers. “It is incredibly private and incredibly discreet but not remote. They know and trust the staff who work there and they are creatures of habit," an insider told The Sun about the Cambridge's vacation. The happy family was reportedly in Mustique for George's fifth birthday in 2018, as well. The prince reportedly learned to swim on the island, too.

It sounds like Prince George is set to have a birthday fit for a future king! Happy (almost) birthday, George!
