The National Weather Service has confirmed three more tornadoes that impacted southeast Louisiana as severe weather moved through early Thursday morning.
An EF1 tornado with maximum estimated winds of 90 miles per hour in the Kentwood area began along LA 1049 and moved east-northeast to near LA 1051, with the strongest damage found along Wren St. Multiple trees were uprooted or snapped with one large pine tree destroying a mobile home.
Another EF1 with maximum estimated winds of 100 milers per hour was reported near Hammond. The tornado began just north of Medical Center Rd. and continued east crossing Veterans Ave. and lifted at the edge of the woods, causing minor to moderate structural damage to some buildings.
Close to Covington, an EF0 tornado with maximum estimated winds of 85 miles per hour causing some minor damage, peeling off roof shingles and knocking down fences and mailboxes. The NWS says this tornado began at the back of the Tallow Creek neighborhood along Solomon Dr. and continued east between Cole Ct. and Arian Ln, lifting before Jack Dr.
