Officials say two people are dead from fires related to Hurricane Delta's impact over the weekend.

Governor John Bel Edwards confirmed yesterday that an 86-year-old man in St. Martin Parish had died in a shed fire caused by refueling a generator while it was still hot.

Officials say a 70-year-old woman died, and a 71-year-old man was severely burned several hours later in a house fire in Iberia Parish that appeared to have been caused by an explosion sparked from a lit cigarette.

The woman's death has not officially been declared storm-related, and the explosion is thought to have been from a possible natural gas leak.
