No Current Threat To Louisiana From Possible Tropical Development

While the National Hurricane Center has highlighted two potential areas for tropical development, there is no current threat to Louisiana.

The NHC says a broad low pressure system could form over the southwestern Gulf over the weekend. Slow development is possible as it drifts west and west-northwestward towards Mexico.

The other is a system moving over Florida that is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the peninsula.

"Although upper-level winds are expected to be only marginally conducive, some slow development is possible while the system moves northeastward offshore of the U.S. Southeast coast tonight through late week," said forecasters Wednesday.
